This edition of PHOENIX TONES ‘PJOENX PHONICS’ textbooks is the edited and
enhanced version of the 2018 first edition. This is necessitated by the need of parents and teachers for a measure of simplicity and accommodation of the non phonics teachers to use the publication in classrooms in the absence of the professional phonics teacher. In order to achieve these, some adjustments have been made to enhance the teacher’s ability to stimulate phonics in the young learners. So also, is the need for making this publication even more easily accessible to all learners, teachers and, parents alike.
This is because the importance of PHONICS in a developing child’s learning process is Very essential. Relationship between the letters and sounds provides the perfect blend that Stimulates the ability to spell, pronounce and trigger reading comprehension in a child. From personal experiences of teaching phonics in various schools over the years, it has been observed, that to enable the child in formative years develop the ability to grasp the objective of the Systematic teaching pattern, the child must enjoy what he/she is learning.
In that respect there are games, activities that have been designed to make
learning fun filled, and exciting experience for children.
In order to achieve these objective, PHOENIX TONES have designed PJOENX
PHONICS textbooks to guide the growing child to identify letters. Through comic and graphical pictures, sounding of the letters, pronunciations of regularly used words that are often wrongly pronounced, songs of selected letters, tracing the letters to get a feel of how they are written and using simple activities to master particular letters.
Also, because diction is a vehicle that combines speaking right with meanings in learning, series of words have been selected from the dictionaries using the QUEEN’S ENGLISH. So that pupils Can pronounce each word correctly and ultimately read excellently.
